ABOUT OUR COOP

As an artist cooperative, JUC is has no paid employees; we are owned, operated and staffed by our members. Most of our operating expenses are covered by a small membership fee and commission on sales.

Artists become members through an application and jury process ensuring a wide variety of artistic styles and mediums. We offer two levels of participation: Working members volunteer time to staff the shop and operate all aspects of the business. Non-working members provide artwork but cannot offer a time commitment to the shop. We welcome both Working and Non-working Member applications and do not discriminate during the jury process as to which category you choose.

Community is important to our mission as a Co-op. From March through October, we spotlight new area artists as our monthly Guest Artist. And Just Us Chickens is honored to support Footprints Food Pantry, a local non-profit fighting hunger in our community. Proceeds from our annual plant sale, held in May, are shared with this important organization.

We’re always looking for new and emerging artists to join our community. If you're a maker looking for a welcoming space to share your work, we'd love to hear from you!
